SICTIC Angel Training
Dr. Thomas Billeter on „Start With The Why - An Angel Investor's Perspective"
SICTIC Board Member and Director Ticino Investors
In this angel training session, Thomas Billeter will talk about the fascination of Angel Investing and describe what motivates him to engage with startups.
He will explain what are the key factors that make startups fail and from there explain what he is looking for to engage. Most importantly he will identify some of the key questions to ask or important milestones to look for before making the final decision. Lastly he will illustrate how he approaches valuation and what terms he wants to see in the term sheet.
Thomas Billeter holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Zurich and a Master of Science Degree in Electrotechnical Engineering from ETH Zurich. He spent 6 years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company helping clients to build technology-based businesses and to improve capabilities and performance of their IT functions. For 20 years he has been an active member of the Swiss startup ecosystem, where he has co-founded several companies. He is today an active board member, advisor, coach, and angel investor. His engagements include Zattoo, Squirro, Nomoko, Bitsaboutme, and Workspace2go.
