Here are the facts from SICTICs long-term view on tech investments: 90% of all venture backed tech startups don’t hit their initial growth plans, and about 25% don’t make it at all. The majority of all ventures face at least once in their journey a phase where they fear they can’t continue with their business anymore at all. Pivoting – fundamentally changing direction and re-inventing the business model – is more of a standard situation than an exceptional event in tech ventures. However, very little knowledge has been generated on how to pivot systematically. So: how can we to transform business model faster and better and turn stuck ventures back on track? This is, what we are investigating with Stefan Zanetti Stefan is a 5x serial entrepreneur and founder of three ETH Zurich spin-offs. He has lived through pivots several times and is now fully focused on the topic of pivots: with his company Pivotal he generates thousands of data points per company about matching pivot patterns. He supports founders, board members and investors to spot fundamentally alternative ways to generate growth and to go from stuck to unfair advantage.
